クー･チョン・アは1967年に韓国のソウルで生まれ、現在ロンドンを拠点に活躍している。
クー・チョン・アはデッサン、写真、ビデオを含む様々なメディアを使って作品を展開している。彼女のインスタレーションは、はかなく一時的で「２つの安定した物体の間にある空間」についての考察である。
クー・チョン・アはインスタレーションでまた最近では写真作品で、非常に平凡で有りうる日常に小さなニュアンスを加えることで、見る人が予想もつかないような主体性で日常を輝かせる。彼女の作品の特徴は、はかないインスタレーションや、繊細さや憂愁さにある。クー ・チョン・アは2000年、ヴィラ・メディシスに滞在したほか、沢山の国際的な展覧会に参加している。
